Final Fantasy VI

Having not been swayed by the legions of fans who worship Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy Online (FFXI), I grew up playing them all. The 2-D entries into the series will always be my favourite, because they had something special about them that I just can't find in the later games. The visuals are beautiful, the music pleasing and memorable, the characters likeable (even the villian), and the story epic and well written.

Unlike their next attempt at a remake (Final Fantasy III on the DS), Final Fantasy VI transitioned to the GBA beautifully. While it is lacking the wonderfully made cinematic sequences the Playstation One (PSX) port had, the loading times are almost non-existent. However, I can't say that I'm entirely pleased with the new translations they've been using for their remakes lately. Some of the name changes make little sense, as I've never approved of their renaming someone after fans have known the original name for years (that includes Aeris for all the people who insist on using that ridiculous new version).

Bottom line, Final Fantasy VI on the Gameboy Advance (GBA) is a great addition to any RPG fan's collection if they don't already have the game on another console or two. The bonus dungeon really isn't that big of a draw, but it doesn't really change the overall story of the game either, so that's a plus. If you do own the game, I'd suggest looking to Final Fantasy V or the GBA release of Final Fantasy IV (avoid the horrible DS remake like the plague). However, if you have the cash to spend, and want FFVI as a portable game to take anywhere.. you can't go wrong with this one.Buy Final Fantasy VI!

Final Fantasy XI: The Vana'diel Collection 2007

Okay i was reading lots of review of this game and heard alot of false comments and statements that i want to clear up! Ive been playing Final Fantasy XI for about 9 months now, so I may know a lot more then people that play it for 2 months and give up, and write a crapy review about the game. Im in love with this game and its highly addicted, i all ways look forward to coming home to play FFXI. So here it goes.

First of...
~This game does take alot of commitment to play, i usually devote about 2 to 8 hours into the game. If i have 30 minutes to 1 hour to spare i wont even bothering getting on because i wont get anything done, unless im just getting on to screw around like PvP or Farm, but leveling up wise, you have to devote lots of time, this is the ONLY down side of the game.

Second...
~There is LOTS of Mob Grinding and fighting with parties between Lvls 10 to 60ish, but this greatly depends on you job class. Getting to lvl 10 is the worst, very boring and takes me about 3 days of about 3 hours a day, so thats about 10 hours. but its worth it becuase then you get to start fighting in parties! Partying is lots of fun and there is many Do'ss and Dont's, again depending on your job class. It does take a while to form a party, and this also depends on your job class and the time of day. Partying involves lots of strategy and if one person does something wrong, it could cost everyone. Partying is one of my favortie parts of the game, but can get a little boring after a while.

Next...
~You usually dont start doing quests until level 30 unless your 20 getting your chocobo, which does not take 5 to 6 hours!!! It takes an easy 4 hours but all you have to do is feed the chocobo one grass, turn off the game and wait an hour, turn it back on and feed another grass until you do four of them, so its not that bad. And this is the ONLY quest that is a pain, that i have done soo far.

Last
~Now this game isnt for everyone, like i said you must devote a lot of time into the game, but if you can do that, you will be hooked! If you have played runescape(i did for about 2 years until the gay updates recently, then i switched to this game) but it taks millions of exp to get a skill to lvl 99, but in Final Fantasy it is pretty consistent, it takes you exactly 837550 exp to get to lvl 75 from lvl 1, but you also need a sub job to lvl 37 which is about 150,00 exp, so all together is about 990,000 exp, just about 1 million, not that bad compared to a couple million on runescape, so getting to lvl 75 with a sub of 37 is obtainable by the average human being with a life, just may take a little bit, but usually it takes anywhere from 6 months to 12 months to reach that, this greatly depends on the time you play, your job, and a little bit of luck(to get into good parties)

So thats my review from a some what expierenced player, if anything on here is not true, please let me know.

Final Fantasy Chronicles (Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV)

i remember saving up my allowances and lawn mowing earnings to buy my first super nintendo a long long time ago. the first game i bought when i bought the system was final fantasy 2 (which goes by the name final fantasy 4 in japan). i have very fond memories of this game and it is definitely one of the games that turned me into the rabid rpg and final fantasy junkie that i am today. anyone who has an appreciation for either of those two things should pick up this title based on that game alone.
chrono trigger has acheived cult status among rpg connoisseurs but i unfortunately have never had the opportunity to play it myself...until now. i did play chrono cross and i enjoyed that game so i figured it would be a no brainer to check out the game's ancestor. throw in final fantasy 2 (one of the greatest rpgs of all time in my book) and the more than fair price and you have yourself an awesome friggin deal!Buy Final Fantasy Chronicles (Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV)!

Final Fantasy I & II Dawn of Souls

I have played FF1 and 2 on the NES, and this game actually adds a couple of new features to each for smoother gameplay. FF1 on the NES was a good basic game, lacking in the glitz of its successors, but decent as a first game to a awesome series. FF1 here is actually more fun to play because of the new features as well as the new side-quests. Buying and using magic and armor are also smoothed out, so what was frustrating about the FF1 game is lacking from here.

In my opinion, FF2 was the worst game in the series due to its leveling up and stats, as well as some confusion about where to go next. It's not perfect in the GBA version, but it is a bit better. If you liked FF2, definitely try it. If not, you might still like the new/improved FF2.

I also LOVE the bestiary available in both games and the stats that come with them. It was a great idea to add this feature!Buy Final Fantasy I & II Dawn of Souls!

Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus

I was waiting for this game to be released for a very long time since the rumors about it coming out first came up..One cause I think that final Fantasy 7 is probably the coolest game ever and that the game was gonna be based on one of the coolest characters ever. i didn't know what to expect when i first got my hands on it.im gonna be honest the thought about it being a shooter game never even crossed my mind. but that's really what it is..This game go's deep in to the story of Vincent valentine you come to find out everything that wasn't explained in final fantasy 7..its a great game obviously since Vincent is a gun welding bad a$$ that the weapon that you get for him..but after you complete missions you get money and when you kill enemy's you get money as well and you can buy parts for his guns to customize them by making them stronger lighter and a totally different weapon from a sniper riffle to a blazing fast machine gun..This is a must have for anyone that's familiar with the Final Fantasy 7 story..this is just another part of the story that wasn't explained in the first game or movie.you get to find out about a great battle and everything there is to know about Vincent..the game play is rad the characters are awesome..i see why so many people are so disappointed with this game cause they were expecting another Final Fantasy 7 game..if that's what your looking for then your not gonna find that here it is what it is and it is a really good game..but its a shooter game..and im not the biggest fan of shooter games they make me dizzy..haha but this was a really cool game you should def check it out. Totally worth it.Buy Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus!

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates

This is by far one of my favorite games. I have found that the story mode is short, but it is so fun I have played through it 5 times! (3 times on normal and twice on plus) The story is creative and refreshing and really sucks you in. The voice acting is a nice touch as well, although a little cheesy it makes for a good gaming experience. The combat is fluid and easily done although if playing in story the AI seems to be a little sub par. The multiplayer mode really makes this a great game. In multiplayer you are able to go through all the dungeons from story mode PLUS many additional quests. My personal favorite is the gladiator quests that allows you to fight against your friend adding a competitive twist to a cooperative game. Overall this is a great game and if you value a unique story with good graphics look no further.Buy Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates!
